BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE OF SCOTLAND (OFFICE OF HERITAGE AND THE ARCHIVES) PROJECT ARCHIVIST (6 Months – Fixed Term)
Salary £25,000 to £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
The Bishops’ Conference of Scotland currently has a fixed term vacancy for a Project Archivist, based initially in Glasgow for approximately 3 months; thereafter, the role will be based in Edinburgh. The postholder will be responsible for preparing the Archive Collection of the Marist Brothers for its move to the Scottish Catholic Archive. The role will involve auditing, cataloguing, including creating a suitable digital catalogue database, and re-packaging the collection in line with Data Protection legislation. Applicants for the post will be educated to degree level and will have a Postgraduate Diploma in Archives Management or equivalent demonstrable experience. Applicants will be able to evidence a good working knowledge of at least one type of cataloguing database software, along with a good working knowledge and best practice in preservation, including digital preservation. Applicants will have the ability to work to tight deadlines, be highly motivated and have excellent IT skills.
