The 2018 Conference will be at High Leigh, Hertfordshire from 21st to 23rd May and will contain the following sessions:
Session 1: ‘Douai 450th: September 29th 1568 William Allen takes possession and founds the English College’, Fr Peter Harris, English College, Valladolid and St Edmunds College, Ware, Archives.
Session 2 Interest groups to include: Securing the future of our archives led by Margaret Harcourt-Williams and Clare Walsh and Religious archivists and the cause process led by Paul Shaw.
Session 3: ‘Mercy Oral Archive Experience: Challenges and learnings from an oral history project in the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, Ireland’, Marianne Cosgrave, Mercy Congregational Archives, Dublin
Session 4: ‘Archives for Impact: preservation solutions for mixed collections and exhibiting on a budget’, Victoria Stevens ACR, freelance library and archive conservator and preservation consultant
Session 5: Annual General Meeting
Session 6: ‘Data Protection Act (GDPR) – Practical challenges and advice for Archivists and Records Managers’, Jon Elliott, Head of Public Affairs The National Archives
Session 7: Open Forum (including feedback from interest groups)
There will also be an excursion to St Albans Cathedral.
