The Irish Jesuit Archives (IJA) contains the records of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) in Ireland from 1575 onwards. The majority of material relates to individual Irish Jesuits, Jesuit administration and communities, missions, sermon and retreat notes. The MacErlean Transcripts, which cover the years from 1527 to 1774, include documents relating to ministries in Ireland and abroad. The archival material exist in a wide variety of formats: paper records; photographs; microfilm; film; tape recordings and digitally born records.

Access to the Irish Jesuit Archives is by advance appointment only, Monday-Friday: 10am-1pm; 2pm-4.30pm. Researchers are required to fill in a registration form at the time of their first visit and to abide by all the rules of the archives.
